About Dr. Julie Dodd

Chief Clinician & Owner

As a clinical psychologist with over 25 years in the field, I have worked with people who know in their hearts that they are strong, but change has left them in doubt. High expectations have left them masking their worry, sadness, and loss of hope so others don't see it. In my therapy sessions, I provide a safe, affirming, non-judgmental space where each person can be their true self and take their mask off as they move through life's changing landscape.

I am what many in my field refer to as a "late career" psychologist. What that means for my clients is that my life journey has taken me from close work with the Greatest Generation through to intensive work with Gen Z. Over those years, I realized that while sometimes change is wonderful, at other times it can leave you exhausted, unsure, and struggling to keep it together. Whether your change involves moving on to college, graduating into a first "big" job, starting or ending an important relationship, getting married or divorced, getting a promotion, coping with the stress of a high-intensity career, or coping with retirement or other losses, let me provide you with a gentle landing place and a path toward greater self-confidence and self-acceptance.

My Approach

I take a whole-person approach to therapy. I believe you are not defined by labels others put on you. As part of our work together, I'll invite you to share the experiences you believe have defined you as we journey together. This will help me customize our work together by drawing from the broad range of therapeutic approaches and strategies I have mastered over the years (too numerous to list here). Most importantly, I will structure our work together so that you know where we are in reaching the goals we set, and you can offer input if you want to change course. Although it's rare, if you feel dissatisfied with the services you are receiving, please let me know so we can either adjust our approach or I can offer referrals to other providers.
